The Louisville Atheists and Freethinkers is a loosely organized band of atheists, agnostics, humanists, and freethinkers of many different backgrounds and labels. We started out in 2003 as the Louisville Atheists Meetup and have since grown into the 100's and blossomed out into new focus areas and groups.

The Jesus Timeline (Updated), by John Armstrong from Mikel Hensley on Vimeo.
In this presentation, John highlights the differences and contradictions in the four gospel accounts regarding the nature of Jesus and the timeline of his reported life events.
National Atheist Party Debate from Mikel Hensley on Vimeo.
This is a friendly debate, more like a discussion, between our member Frank Lovell and Atheist Party president Troy Boyle on whether or not there should be a political party with "atheist" in its name.
The guest speaker for the February meetup was Robert Barr. He is the Rabbi for Congregation Beth Adam in Cincinnati. He recently spoke at the Free Inquiry Group's 20th Anniversary Celebration on what is really going on at the Creation "Museum", earning many enthusiastic reviews.
In his presentation, he gave a pictorial tour of the Creation Museum, making comments along the way and highlighted the points that the "museum" is trying to make. He prefered to call it ia church rather than a museum, as his tour quickly revealed that this "museum" is not about science, not really even about creationism, but about trying to convert visitors to a specific version of fundamentalist Christianity.
At the speaker's request, we have not posted the video of his presentation online. If you would like to see the video, please contact me though our Contact Form.
Here are the speakers from the January Meetup of the Louisville Atheists and Freethinkers.
In the first video, Gretchen Mann talks about how members of Louisville Atheists and Freethinkers partnered with the Military Association of Atheist and Freethinkers to provide pamphlets about freethought and atheism at the Military Processing Center in Louisville, KY.
In this video, Linda Allewalt talks about the history and activities of Americans United for Church and State, and why atheists should consider joining and supporting this organization.
The presentation given by John Armstrong on some of the conflicts in the story of Jesus as presented by the different Gospels in the Bible.
Tom Flynn gives a funny and thought provoking presentation on why he thinks that secular humanists, atheists, agnostics, freethinkers, and other non-christians should not celebrate Christmas. Agree or not, you will probably learn something and you will laugh :)
Kentucky State Fair Stories, Sept 19, 2011 from Mikel Hensley on Vimeo.
Discussions of the 2011 Kentucky Secular Society State Fair Booth, and stories from some of the volunteers who worked at the booth this year.
Here is the guest speaker video from the September 2011 Louisville Atheists and Freethinkers Meetup.
Dr Sam Sloss interviews the Creation "Museum" "Scientists" from Mikel Hensley on Vimeo.
Dr. Sam Sloss discusses the Creation "Museum" near Cincinnati and interviews with two of their scientists in the context of his research on how science is presented and taught outside of academia. We had interesting discussion about the goals and mission of the creation museum and how they contrast with the goals of real science museums.
